“It turned out to be a girl, Erika. I was very annoyed. I was always annoyed when I had a girl, I don’t know why. In all, we had three boys and three girls, which kept things balanced [...]. My husband was much fonder of the girls. Although he didn’t think much of girls, Erika was always his favourite, followed by the youngest, Elisabeth. He far and away preferred the girls; they were much closer to him than his sons .”
