Rowohlt, Ernst

1887-1960, German publisher, who founded the Rowohlt Verlag Paris-Leipzig publishing house in 1908. After taking part in World War I, establishment of the second Rowohlt publishing house in Berlin which survived until 1943. After World War II, the publishing house was set up once again in 1946 in with relocation to the company headquarters in Hamburg one year later.
